Bill Chatfield, founder and president of the Peterborough Poetry Project and the creator of this page, passed away on Friday, May 27at the age of 75.
He was a published poet whose works were featured in contest publications and in volumes of his own creation. His collection “We Are Stardust” was acclaimed by New Hampshire reviewers.
Bill’s love of rhythm and rhyme led him to lead several national poetry contests that attracted writers from throughout the world. He will be sorely missed by writers who found in him both an inspiration, objective judge and passionate supporter of poetry as it is written in the 21st Century. He inspired members of the Peterborough Poetry Project board of directors with his dedication to and knowledge of what makes great verse.
